Ballet Grade 2

Ballet for 9-10 year olds

Learning ballet at our studio promotes good posture, poise and strength. We work on developing a confident, happy and energetic dancers, learning skills and stamina that can be used in any area of life.

We teach a syllabus devised by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). This work is carefully graded to suit children to develop ballet skills slowly & carefully while encouraging enthusiasm and freedom of dance.

Our age levels are designed to fit with NZ school year age groups. Students in Year 5 (turning 9 before June 1st cutoff as a general rule) are in the Ballet Grade 2 level. Students are required to take 2 classes per week. Each class is one hour long.

Uniform

Dance schools all around the world wear a dance uniform, to help students and teachers alike get the most out of class. Long hair should be in a ballet bun for ballet or tied back neatly for class.

For your first class, don’t worry if you don’t have the uniform yet, just wear something comfortable to move in, and bare feet.  Upon enrolment we will send you all the information you need about dance uniform, hair etc.
