Lyrical

Lyrical is a mix of ballet and jazz dance for ages 7 years+

Lyrical dance is easiest described as a combination of jazz and ballet.  It is faster than ballet, but not as fast as jazz. Lyrical dance combines the technique of ballet with the freedom and airier aspects of jazz, contemporary and modern dance. Most lyrical dance pieces are performed to music with lyrics and the lyrics of the song are what the choreography of the dance is based on. Lyrical is a 45 minute class. 

Class Times and Days 2026

Uniform

Dance schools all around the world wear a dance uniform, to help students and teachers alike get the most out of class. Long hair should be in a ballet bun for ballet or tied back neatly for class.

For your first class, don’t worry if you don’t have the uniform yet, just wear something comfortable to move in, and bare feet.  Upon enrolment we will send you all the information you need about dance uniform, hair etc.

Lyrical Uniform:

Lyrical ‘Grades’ (1, 2, 3 & 4):

• Lavender wide-strap or Purple camisole leotard
• Black leggings or skirt
• Bare feet or ‘toe undies’

Lyrical ‘Senior’ (Senior Foundation+):

• Purple or black camisole leotard
• Black leggings or skirt
• Bare feet or ‘toe undies’

Tuition

Class Tuition:  $188 per term — based on an 8-week term

Note:  Tuition is pro-rated by term length.  In 2026, one additional week of tuition will be added to 9-week terms (Terms 2 & 3).

Registration Fee:
$25 per new student (one-off).
