Teams & Solos
Wellington Dance & Performing Arts Academy offers age-appropriate performance opportunities for all students. As students progress through the ballet and jazz grades, this can include learning group or solo routines for dance competitions.
Here are the steps for those interested:
- Talk with your teacher or Suzanne and let them know you are interested.
- If we think it is the right time and fit for you, we will recommend you audition for a team or crew.
- From these, we select soloists.
We have a closed facebook group for WDA families who are involved with teams or solos. Information about upcoming competitions, entry forms etc will be posted there.
Performances
2025 End of Year Show
We hold a theatre performance every two years, at the Victoria University Memorial Theatre.
There are many ‘firsts’ for our students in each concert - it could be their first time on stage, first time wearing a tutu or costume, or even first time dancing a principal role. Mostly it is a celebration of all of the hard work and dedication the students - and families - have put in throughout the year and a chance for WDA students of ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro and hip hop to shine and share their art with family, friends and the community.
All students participate! We make sure everyone's performance length and time at the theatre works for their age group.
More information to come!
